KIC iWomen Sponsorship

Tianqi Lithium Kwinana has recognised International Women’s Day 2021 by sponsoring the Kwinana Industries Council (KIC) iWomen Project, announced by Acting General Manager Raj Surendran during an event held at Tianqi’s Kwinana facilities.

iWomen was started in 2012 to encourage more females to enter industry and is offered to participating schools in the Kwinana, Rockingham and Cockburn regions.

During the event, KIC Education Development Officer Debbie Hoey explained how the iWomen students visit a range of industries, meet women in non-traditional female roles and have the opportunity to see what industry really looks like.

Breanna Lock shared how participating in the iWomen project in 2019 opened up career pathways and opportunities she had never before contemplated. Now a Year 12 student, she has progressed to the KIC Female Engineering Pre-apprenticeship in conjunction with South Metropolitan TAFE and is looking forward to the future.

Tianqi is proud of its involvement in the KIC Education Development Program and the local community.
