Greenbushes Mine

The Greenbushes Lithium Mine is located approximately 250km south of Perth, and is the largest deposit of spodumene in the world, a lithium bearing mineral found in up to 50 percent of the hard rock mined at Greenbushes.

It is owned and operated by Talison Lithium, a joint venture between TLEA and US miner Albermarle Corporation.

Talison Lithium is supplying the downstream processing industry being established in Western Australia by TLEA.

Mining began at Greenbushes in 1888, with development of the lithium ore body commencing in 1983. Over the past 30 years, Greenbushes has undergone a number of expansions to maintain its position as a major supplier or lithium mineral concentrates.
